XRP bounced 4% off its August low while the broader market barely moved. South Korea is loading the order books, and the technicals are finally flashing green after 80 days of relentless selling.
The Numbers Show Real Demand, Not Hype
On Upbit and Bithumb combined, buy orders within 1% of the market price outnumber sell orders by roughly two to one. That 34% skew matters because it measures actual liquidity posted by traders, not sentiment or tweets. XRP ranks third by volume on Upbit's Korean won markets, trailing only Tether and Bitcoin. Few altcoins move Korean retail traders the way XRP does.
There's also a small premium building on Bybit versus global prices, sitting near the top of its seven-day range. Nothing dramatic yet, but it signals buyers are willing to pay a bit more rather than wait for cheaper fills. The lean is bullish, though still fragile enough that one bad headline could evaporate it.
Momentum Finally Stopped Collapsing
The price chart still shows lower lows since early June, but the selling is losing teeth. The Relative Strength Index, which measures how hard recent moves are running, climbed from below 20 in early June to the low 40s by August. Price kept falling while momentum rose. That split, called a bullish divergence, happens when sellers get exhausted before the chart turns.
XRP already reacted by bouncing 4% from the August low. use is not pumping it either. Bybit perpetual funding sits near 0.006%, barely positive. Overheated use would read much higher, so this move has room to run without blowing up on a sudden liquidation cascade.
The falling channel that capped every rally since May 14 still looms overhead. Confirmation requires breaking above that resistance, not just a single bounce. But for the first time in months, the setup favors buyers over sellers, and Korean traders are the ones putting real money behind it.
