Ondo Finance announced Thursday that its broker-dealer subsidiary, Oasis Pro Markets, has received regulatory clearance to offer tokenized equities and funds directly to American investors, operating under oversight from both the SEC and FINRA.
Oasis Pro Markets holds SEC-registered broker-dealer status, and the approval opens up compliant U.S. access to a broad range of tokenized assets: publicly traded equities including shares sold in IPOs, fund interests such as ETFs, and mutual and index funds. Distribution will run through OTC retailing, underwritten primary offerings, private placements, and related activities.
A Significant Expansion From Treasuries to Equities
Until now, Ondo's U.S.-facing business was largely confined to tokenized Treasuries products. Tokenized stocks were available outside the country through its Ondo Stocks unit, but American investors were left out. That changes with this clearance. The company also noted that Oasis Pro Markets can support omnibus account structures through existing broker-dealer and advisory channels, meaning institutional investors, registered investment advisors, and retirement accounts won't need to open new accounts anywhere: they can access tokenized securities through brokers they already use.
Ondo claims its Ondo Stocks unit has recorded over $20 billion in cumulative trading volume and holds more than $1 billion in tokenized stocks by total value locked, calling it the largest tokenized securities platform globally and saying it exceeds all other platforms combined. The company did not provide an independent source for that ranking, and the figures are self-reported.
No specific launch date for the U.S. offerings was given. Ondo said only that products would become available to American investors and institutions following the approvals. The broader regulatory backdrop matters here: with Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon backing US crypto clarity legislation and the Senate actively reworking the CLARITY Act, the regulatory environment for tokenized securities in the U.S. is shifting faster than it has in years.
The ONDO token was trading around $0.40 at the time of the announcement, down 3.73% over 24 hours, with a circulating market cap near $1.95 billion.
