Xsight Labs has closed a $300 million funding round, pushing its valuation past $2.5 billion. This sharp growth reflects investor confidence in programmable networking chips as a key element of AI infrastructure, with the AI data center networking market expected to soar to $150 billion within two years.
Rapid Valuation Growth Amid Industry Shifts
The Israeli fabless chipmaker, relatively unknown until recently, has increased its valuation fivefold since 2021, when it was valued at about $500 million. Despite internal management changes and workforce reductions, Xsight attracted strong backing from Fidelity Investments, Atreides Management, and Avigdor Willenz, a key figure in the company’s origin and growth. The high valuation signals belief in Xsight's ability to capitalize on growing demand for energy-efficient, programmable network silicon optimized for AI workloads.
Power-Efficient Chips Driving AI Connectivity
Xsight’s product lineup includes the X-series switch chips and E-series DPUs, both designed for ultra-high-speed AI data center communication. These chips stand out by consuming less than 200 watts while delivering 12.8 terabits per second, which is key for handling massive AI model data flows efficiently. Their programmability allows customization through client-driven software, a distinct advantage over fixed-function alternatives. A notable contract with Starlink for next-gen V3 satellite network chips highlights the broad applicability of Xsight’s technology, proving its reliability and efficiency in demanding environments.
While Xsight has reportedly moved away from cryptocurrency-focused applications, the broader AI networking market’s growth to $150 billion by 2028 places it at about 5% of the current $3 trillion crypto market capitalization, underscoring the infrastructure’s rising importance across tech sectors.
