XRP's largest holders increased their token stash by approximately 4.63 billion during the recent market downturn, pushing their total holdings from about 7.5 billion in mid-August to roughly 12.13 billion XRP.

This surge in accumulation occurred while the token's price was weakening after a July peak. Kamilah Stevenson, a wealth-focused YouTuber, highlights that these large wallets have been steadily buying throughout the decline rather than buying at the top and holding.

Stevenson notes that mid-sized holders with 10 million to 100 million XRP also accumulated tokens steadily. Meanwhile, smaller holders in the 100,000 to 10 million XRP range tended to distribute their holdings. This dynamic points to a shift in supply concentration towards the biggest players.

Exchange data supports this trend. Binance outflows dominated at 91.4%, and retail activity on major exchanges dropped by 8.4%. Large wallets accounted for about 90.5% of exchange flows, indicating a preference for moving tokens into self-custody rather than selling.

The number of wallets holding at least 10,000 XRP has reached a record high of more than 332,000. At the same time, the creation of new wallets has fallen to its lowest point since November 2022, suggesting a cooling in retail interest.
