A sudden spike in XRP spot flows caught the attention of traders last week as the trading volume surged by 182%. Instead of showing clear buying pressure, this jump reflected heightened activity from both buyers and sellers, keeping net flows balanced.
Despite positive trends across the broader crypto market, XRP remains confined below key resistance levels, hovering near $1.10. Bitcoin’s recent stabilization gave hope to many large-cap tokens, yet XRP struggles to break above important moving averages which keeps its momentum limited.
From a technical angle, XRP remains stuck beneath its 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day moving averages, reinforcing a bearish longer-term trend. Although a small ascending support line has emerged, bulls have failed thus far to push the price past the 50-day average around $1.11 to $1.12. This resistance zone keeps sellers active and pressure constant on any upward attempt.
On-chain data paints a mixed picture: while payment counts on the XRP Ledger hold steady, total daily payment volumes have pulled back from early July’s spike of over one billion XRP transfers per day. This suggests that while user activity remains lively, large transaction volumes have cooled off somewhat.
Investors looking for stronger signs of recovery might see this as a cautionary moment despite the strong surge in spot flows. XRP’s price action and exchange flows are sending contradictory signals, hinting that market participants remain divided on the token’s short-term direction.
XRP ETF demand also faces challenges, reflecting a waiting game among investors that could influence price dynamics moving forward.
