World Foundation has raised $52.5 million by selling locked WLD tokens to strategic investors, aiming to expand its biometric identity verification system. The funding round was led by Pantera Capital as the organization responds to growing global needs for reliable human verification against rising online fraud.
The fresh capital is set to accelerate development of the World ID infrastructure, which uses biometric data to provide secure and private identity verification. This step comes amid increasing attention to digital identity solutions combating issues like AI deepfakes and bot fraud.
