South Korea's Upbit exchange shuffled a staggering 864 billion Shiba Inu tokens worth around $4 million between its own wallets shortly after SHIB's price jumped 36% last Sunday. This massive internal transfer caught attention because such moves usually go unnoticed but now raise questions about what’s next for SHIB.
Details Behind the Token Movement
Data from Arkham reveals the transfer happened in two main waves. First, 384 billion SHIB moved from Upbit’s hot wallet, labeled "0x769," to related platform addresses in four equal chunks of 96 billion each. Almost immediately after, 480 billion SHIB returned to the original hot wallet from Upbit's official SHIB wallet. This back-and-forth restructuring points to possible liquidity management to keep order processing smooth.
What This Could Mean for SHIB Traders
While routine liquidity shifts are common, such an enormous shuffle right after a sharp price rally fuels speculation about upcoming activity. The timing suggests Upbit might be gearing up for increased SHIB trading or another market surge. This event highlights South Korea’s continued influence on SHIB’s price dynamics, emphasizing how local demand can drive notable market moves.
