The team managing TRUMP Coin recently transferred approximately $16.9 million worth of TRUMP tokens to Fireblocks custody wallets, sparking interest among traders about the token's future movements. This transaction involved moving over 10 million coins to three separate Fireblocks addresses, a move interpreted as part of an ongoing portfolio adjustment rather than a sell-off.
Background on TRUMP Coin’s Custody Moves
TRUMP Coin operates on the Solana blockchain and is designed to appeal to former President Trump's supporters and meme coin enthusiasts. It ranks as the fifth largest meme coin by market cap, trailing PEPE, MemeCore, Shiba Inu, and Dogecoin. Earlier this year, the Trump token team shifted an enormous 48.25 million tokens, worth roughly $172 million, to cold storage wallets with top custodians BitGo and Fireblocks, indicating a pattern of strategic token management rather than panic selling.
Large transfers to custodial platforms like Fireblocks and BitGo typically suggest long-term holding intentions and institutional-grade management. These actions often precede market rallies, as seen by investors repositioning in anticipation of a rebound.
TRUMP Coin is currently priced at about $1.54 per token, down 97.86% from its all-time high of $73.43 in January 2025. Despite this dramatic plunge, the recent token moves point to renewed interest from whale investors, who appear to be accumulating during the dip. This contrasts with retail traders, many of whom have been selling amid the broader crypto market downturn.
