Strategy secured $263.5 million by selling more than 2.7 million shares of Class A common stock last week without engaging in any Bitcoin transactions during the same period. The company maintained its Bitcoin holdings at 843,775 BTC, valued at approximately $54.7 billion at current prices, despite paper losses exceeding $9 billion.

Financial Maneuvers and Asset Status

The Virginia-based firm continues to pause Bitcoin trading consecutively for the second week, refraining from any purchase or sale of digital assets. Its treasury shows substantial unrealized losses, yet Strategy bolsters its liquidity with a cash reserve exceeding $3.2 billion in US dollars as of July 19. This reserve supports preferred stock dividend obligations and debt servicing.

Last week’s capital raise was conducted through the at-the-market (ATM) offering program for MSTR common stock, generating roughly $467 million in recent sales. No sales occurred under the company’s preferred stock ATM programs during this timeframe.

Implications for Strategy's Position

Despite the large paper losses stemming from the current Bitcoin market conditions, Strategy’s focus remains on maintaining a strong cash buffer while halting cryptocurrency trading temporarily. This approach aims to safeguard the company’s financial health amid ongoing volatility. The decision to pause Bitcoin trading contrasts with the recent trend of some firms actively adjusting digital asset holdings.
