“The engagement we've seen so far exceeds expectations,” said a Solana Mobile representative as the company released the next phase of its summer campaign. They have allocated 27 million SKR tokens for Round 2 of Seeker Summer, a slight increase from the 25 million tokens handed out during the opening round. The distribution began on July 30 and continues Solana Mobile’s push to keep users deeply connected with its crypto-centric hardware.
Seeker Summer runs through August 30, segmented into four biweekly rounds filled with daily app drops, quests, and collectible badges accessible via the Solana dApp Store. For example, Round 2 encourages interaction with apps like Moonwalk Fitness, where depositing 100 MF tokens before the deadline unlocks exclusive rewards. The program’s design clearly hooks users into a habit of regular participation, not just one-time visits.
More than half of the SKR tokens from Round 1 were immediately staked by participants instead of being sold, signaling confidence in the token’s future or attractive staking incentives. SKR’s capped supply of 10 billion and its role in staking to Guardians and app voting create a unified incentive system, simplifying the reward structure compared to handing out multiple tokens. This approach also funnels users toward Solana-native projects, aiding partner apps in gaining traction.
Solana Mobile’s strategy addresses a typical hardware challenge: maintaining user activity after the initial excitement fades. By weaving rewards into everyday app engagement and making the dApp Store a regular destination, they aim to turn a crypto phone from a novelty into a daily tool. This method stands out in the crowded landscape of blockchain devices.
