SharpLink expanded its Ethereum holdings to 888,521 ETH after adding 420 ETH in staking rewards last week. The Nasdaq-listed firm has turned its treasury into a yield machine, staking nearly all of its ETH through both native and liquid methods.
Staking Strategy Drives Significant Growth
Since launching its staking program in June 2025, SharpLink has earned 24,338 ETH purely from staking rewards. The company’s latest weekly yield of 420 ETH is slightly lower than the 449 ETH it generated in early July, but the overall trend points to steady accumulation. Back in February 2026, SharpLink’s treasury stood at 867,798 ETH with just 13,615 ETH earned from staking. Over the past five months, the treasury grew by roughly 20,700 ETH, while staking rewards nearly doubled.
From Sports Betting to Institutional Ethereum Holder
SharpLink’s pivot from its previous focus on sports betting technology to becoming an institutional Ethereum treasury platform marks a notable shift in business model. Co-founded by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, the company emphasizes transparency by releasing weekly public staking data and maintaining regular SEC filings. Its ETH is staked via running validator nodes directly on Ethereum’s proof-of-stake network as well as through liquid staking protocols, which offer liquidity through derivative tokens while still earning rewards.
This approach provides investors exposure to Ethereum with a steady yield component that traditional spot ETFs don’t offer. SharpLink’s treasury size now ranks it among the largest corporate holders of ETH worldwide, signaling growing institutional interest in combining directional crypto bets with income generation.
