Ripple has introduced Ripple Mint, a new platform designed to simplify how institutions interact with its regulated stablecoin, RLUSD. This launch offers a web interface and APIs that enable customers to mint, redeem, and manage RLUSD efficiently, combining manual and automated workflows into a single system.
Automation Enhances Stablecoin Operations
With Ripple Mint, eligible institutions gain access to APIs, webhook notifications, and transaction tracking, allowing them to automate stablecoin activities. The platform provides consistent reference IDs linking each stage of minting and redemption, giving exchanges, market makers, and fintech firms clearer oversight of fiat movements and blockchain transactions. Users can opt for fiat settlement or transfer RLUSD across supported blockchains while receiving real-time updates on events like fiat receipt and onchain settlement.
RLUSD's Expansion Across Multiple Blockchains
Initially available on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, RLUSD is now extending to other blockchain networks, enhancing its accessibility for various financial applications such as enterprise payments and cross-border settlements. This multichain approach aims to broaden RLUSD's role in regulated digital asset infrastructure, backed by oversight from the New York Department of Financial Services through Standard Custody & Trust Company LLC's limited-purpose trust charter.
Ripple's move aligns with efforts to integrate stablecoins into institutional finance more smoothly, reflecting growing demand for compliant and programmable digital dollars.
