While the monthly transfer volume of Ripple USD (RLUSD) fell by 25% to roughly $10.95 billion in July, Ripple is pushing forward with new initiatives to improve the stablecoin's infrastructure for institutional users. The company introduced Ripple Mint, a platform designed to streamline minting, redemption, bridging, and transaction tracking of RLUSD. Alongside this, Ripple made a strategic investment in Notabene, a compliance technology firm, aiming to embed RLUSD into a regulated payment network spanning over 100 jurisdictions.
Ripple Mint: Automating Stablecoin Operations
Ripple Mint offers a unified interface that combines both a user-friendly web console and full API access, targeting institutions that require scalable and automated stablecoin workflows. This platform replaces manual processes with functionalities like webhook alerts and detailed transaction tracking from fiat receipt all the way to on-chain settlement. With shared reference IDs linking each stage, firms can simplify their internal reconciliation efforts. While Ripple has yet to disclose pricing or broader availability, Ripple Mint is currently accessible to existing RLUSD customers such as exchanges, market makers, and fintech companies looking to integrate RLUSD smoothly into their systems.
Integrating Compliance Through Notabene
Ripple's investment in Notabene ties RLUSD to a compliance network that handles identity verifications, counterparty data, and transaction authorization before funds are transferred. Notabene Flow, the platform at the center of this collaboration, serves over 2,300 institutions worldwide and processes more than $2 trillion in annual transactions. This partnership aims to enhance RLUSD’s suitability for regulated business payments by embedding compliance checks directly into payment flows. Ripple is also exploring how Notabene’s authorization tools can complement Ripple Payments for more solid institutional use.
Despite a 6% increase in RLUSD holders and a 70% rise in active addresses during the same period, the token's market value dropped nearly 5% alongside the transfer volume decline. These mixed metrics highlight growing wallet participation but reduced total transaction value. Ripple’s dual approach with Ripple Mint and Notabene addresses two critical aspects of stablecoin adoption: operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
