Ripple has unveiled Ripple Mint, a new platform enabling institutions to mint, redeem, and manage Ripple USD (RLUSD) from a single interface. This move aims to streamline stablecoin operations and expand RLUSD’s appeal within regulated financial environments.

Ripple Mint Simplifies Institutional Stablecoin Management

Ripple Mint replaces the fragmented systems previously used for RLUSD activities. Institutions can interact via a user-friendly web console for manual control or tap into APIs for automated processes, adjusting to different operational needs. Real-time tracking of transactions, from fiat receipt through minting to final settlement on-chain, is enhanced with webhook alerts and consistent reference IDs that ease reconciliation for exchanges and market makers alike. While Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin is already operated in Japan through SBI Group, this new platform extends the same institutional capabilities to a broader audience.

Compliance Boost with Notabene Investment

Complementing this technology upgrade, Ripple has invested in Notabene, a compliance firm specializing in identity verification and transaction authorization within stablecoin networks. Notabene’s services verify counterparties and pre-approve transfers, helping institutions satisfy regulatory demands tied to sanctions and anti-money laundering requirements. This integration follows Ripple Payments’ recent registration under Europe’s Markets in Crypto-Assets framework, marking a significant step toward globally compliant stablecoin transactions.

Impact on XRP and Market Reach

Amid these developments, XRP edged up over 1% in the past week, trading near $1.11 and maintaining its position as the sixth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. The expansion of RLUSD’s reach now bridges Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) sidechains such as Base, Optimism, Ink, and Unichain, extending far beyond the XRP Ledger itself. Each RLUSD transaction on the XRP Ledger involves a small XRP burn as a network fee, linking increased stablecoin activity to a reduced XRP supply. This dynamic could serve as a catalyst for long-term growth in XRP value.
