Veteran market analyst Peter Brandt forecasted that Bitcoin's current bear market will likely reach its lowest point on October 4, 2026. He expects the price to potentially fall below $50,000 or even touch $40,000 before stabilizing.
Brandt's Market Outlook and Historical Patterns
Brandt, who has over 50 years of experience, explained that true market bottoms emerge when investor sentiment hits panic levels accompanied by high trading volume, rather than neutral emotional states. He emphasized that Bitcoin's price movements so far do not yet show signs of such panic.
His forecast relies on analyzing four-year historical market cycles. If the pattern repeats, the bottom should occur between late September and early October, with October 4 as the tentative date. Brandt noted that this could change if market conditions shift unexpectedly.
Long-Term Expectations After the Bear Market
While his short-term view remains cautious, Brandt remains optimistic about Bitcoin's longer-term trajectory. He projects a new bull market peak emerging in 2029, with prices possibly reaching between $250,000 and $300,000. He clarified that this is a forecast based on current data and not a guaranteed prediction.
The analyst's perspective contrasts with some market participants who believe Bitcoin's recovery could continue uninterrupted. His caution signals the possibility of further declines before a sustained rebound.
