Ondo Finance is exploring an acquisition deal valued between $250 million and $500 million as it looks to broaden its footprint beyond tokenization. The New York-based firm has yet to enter talks or bring on advisers, according to a CoinDesk report on July 30, 2026.

Founded in 2021 by ex-Goldman Sachs executives, Ondo bridges traditional markets and blockchain by tokenizing assets like US Treasuries and stocks. The company currently manages over $2.5 billion in assets, placing it among the largest tokenized real-world asset platforms.

Despite the acquisition buzz, Ondo clarified it’s not currently negotiating with any specific target but regularly scans the market as part of its growth strategy. The startup has raised approximately $24 million through venture capital and around $10 million from its public ONDO token sale.

This potential acquisition emerges amid a bustling crypto M&A scene in 2026. The sector saw $3.2 billion in deals during Q1 and surged to $12.9 billion in disclosed value in Q2, fueled by companies seeking new licenses, tech, and access. Recent big moves include Kraken’s $550 million purchase of Bitnomial and Bullish’s $4.2 billion acquisition of Equiniti.

Ondo’s token price rose about 6% in the past 24 hours, trading near $0.42 at the time of the report. The company’s move hints at ambitions to integrate wealthtech into its service suite, potentially reshaping how traditional financial products meet blockchain innovation.
