Odos Protocol announced on July 23 that it is winding down its operations and will disable its app to read-only mode on July 27. Users must withdraw their funds by July 30 to avoid losing access, as all services will shut down permanently on that date.

The team did not specify reasons for the shutdown, but activity on the decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator had sharply declined. Monthly trading volume dropped from $7.8 billion in December 2024 to just $169 million by July 2026. According to DefiLlama data, the protocol now generates only about $2.72 million in annual revenue.

Although the operating company behind Odos is closing, the Odos DAO will continue independently and is expected to reveal its future plans soon. The ODOS token will remain on-chain despite the shutdown.

This closure joins a growing list of crypto and DeFi platforms ceasing operations recently. For example, the crypto derivatives exchange BitMEX also announced its shutdown, scheduled for September 23, 2026, ending 11 years of service.
