Nexo has confirmed its full compliance with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) across the European Economic Area as the framework approaches enforcement, according to details shared with Finbold on July 28, 2026.

The digital assets wealth platform operates through two MiCAR-licensed partners, Tangany and DLT Finance, which handle custody and brokerage services separately via infrastructure designed specifically for Europe.

Tangany offers institutional-grade custody solutions under MiCAR licensing, while DLT Finance holds both MiCAR and MiFID II licenses, providing brokerage services for digital assets and financial instruments. This partnership arrangement allows Nexo to maintain a compliant operational base throughout the EEA without altering its existing user platform.

Yasen Yankov, Nexo's Chief Product Officer, emphasized the importance of MiCAR compliance: "Our partners had to meet the highest standards: rigorous regulation, advanced technology, and an unwavering focus on client protection. Europe remains central to our global strategy, and with Tangany and DLT Finance, we've established a strong foundation for growth without disrupting services." He added that after thorough testing, all Nexo services continue as usual.

Martin Kreitmair, CEO of Tangany, described the collaboration as a model for navigating Europe's evolving regulatory environment. "This partnership shows what’s achievable post-MiCAR with the right institutional-grade custody infrastructure. Our joint effort sets a blueprint for other institutions entering the European market," he said.

Alan Kennedy from DLT Finance highlighted the smooth user experience as a key focus. "Top digital asset platforms rely on infrastructure that users don't notice because it simply works. We’re proud to support Nexo’s expansion in Europe by providing the necessary market infrastructure and execution capabilities," he remarked.

Nexo ranked among the top three centralized crypto lenders globally as of Q3 2025, and its reinforced compliance positions it strongly within the European market as MiCAR comes into effect.
