MoonPay has expanded its stablecoin support by partnering with Tempo, the payments blockchain backed by Paradigm and Stripe, enabling users to access USDC.E and PATHUSD through its fiat on-ramp and virtual account services.

Direct access to Tempo’s stablecoins

By connecting its infrastructure with Tempo, MoonPay now allows users to convert fiat currencies like dollars and euros directly into the Ethereum-linked USDC.E and Tempo’s native PATHUSD stablecoin. This eliminates the need for bridges or manual swaps, streamlining the process of entering Tempo’s blockchain ecosystem.

USDC.E is a version of Circle’s USDC tailored for specific blockchain environments, maintaining a stable dollar peg. PATHUSD serves as Tempo’s primary settlement asset, designed for high-throughput payment use cases where transaction fees are paid in stablecoins instead of a volatile native token. Tempo’s network further supports built-in decentralized exchange features, enabling native conversions without relying on external protocols.

Tempo recently opened its public testnet, marking an early but strategic moment for this collaboration. The partnership gives Tempo a direct fiat gateway through MoonPay’s existing user base, allowing new users to buy PATHUSD via debit card or bank transfer without navigating secondary markets.

Tempo’s backers add weight to this move. Paradigm’s reputation as a crypto-focused venture capital firm and Stripe’s deliberate return to crypto infrastructure suggest that Tempo is targeting practical payment applications such as merchant settlements, payroll, and cross-border transfers.

MoonPay has previously integrated stablecoins through collaborations with Hyperliquid and Deel, each serving distinct user groups like traders and global payroll clients. Tempo looks to extend this approach by focusing on merchants and institutional settlements.
