Quantum Solutions, a Tokyo-listed company and Japan’s leading public Ethereum holder, sold 1,000 ETH on July 30 for around $1.9 million. The funds are earmarked for expanding their AI-focused data center infrastructure.

This transaction was carried out via the firm’s Hong Kong branch, GPT Pals Studio Limited, marking another step in their ongoing shift from holding crypto assets to investing in physical AI hardware. Instead of treating Ethereum as a pure long-term asset, Quantum Solutions is strategically liquidating portions to finance real-world GPU deployments.

Backing AI with Ethereum

The company first made headlines in October 2025 when it bought over 2,000 ETH at once, growing its stake to roughly 3,866 ETH. By June 2026, their holdings had climbed to 6,668.80 ETH, crowning them Japan’s top publicly listed Ethereum holder. Starting that month, they began selling chunks of their ETH reserves to fund AI data center projects.

The latest sale pegs Ethereum at about $1,900 apiece. This capital is fueling Quantum Solutions’ partnership with Integrated Capital, formalized in June 2026, to build a Japanese AI data center filled with Nvidia’s advanced B300 and GB300 GPUs. These power-hungry chips are key for training large language models and supporting complex AI inference efforts that rest on solid compute muscle rather than speculative assets.

The move highlights a broader trend where crypto holdings are increasingly seen as operational capital. Quantum Solutions aims to turn its once purely digital treasury into tangible infrastructure, betting that AI revenues will outpace the risks tied to hardware depreciation and a volatile crypto market.
