On July 28, Tokyo-listed Eole made a landmark move by buying 1,078 HYPE tokens for $66,002, marking the first recorded acquisition of Hyperliquid’s token by a Japanese listed company.
The purchase signals a shift in Japan’s crypto treasury strategies, with Eole planning to boost its stake to $611,000 by the end of August. This approach expands corporate crypto holdings beyond familiar assets like bitcoin and ether.
HYPE is the native token of Hyperliquid, a platform specializing in onchain derivatives and trading. Eole’s investment forms part of its “Neo Crypto Bank” strategy aiming to build financial infrastructure for an economy powered by AI-driven payments and contracts.
Unlike speculative buying, Eole views holding HYPE as a strategic step to develop its onchain finance and Web3 endeavors. The company intends to generate revenue by lending digital assets and managing price risks through traditional finance channels, while exploring integration with its existing services. This marks a move toward diverse crypto assets as the company develops automated, smart contract-based financial products.
Meanwhile, Quantum Solutions has taken an opposite route, selling 1,000 ETH to fund its AI infrastructure. This contrast highlights divergent corporate approaches to crypto amid growing AI adoption.
