Hyperscale Data has sold roughly 100 BTC to finance the build-out of its new artificial intelligence data center in Michigan. The company also secured a Bitcoin-backed credit facility with a variable interest rate estimated between 4.5% and 5%. This move allows the firm to fund infrastructure and equipment purchases that have long lead times without offloading much more of its Bitcoin holdings.

After the sale, Hyperscale Data still holds about 1,006 BTC, ranking it 44th among publicly listed corporate Bitcoin holders. The credit line lets the company tap into its Bitcoin reserve to raise capital flexibly instead of selling large chunks immediately. This financial strategy supports its shift toward AI infrastructure, while it continues operating its Bitcoin mining business.

Construction in Michigan aligns with a previously announced 10-year AI services agreement with an unnamed client. The initial contract covers around 20 megawatts of computing power, potentially bringing in over $1.2 billion if fully exercised. Options to extend the deal for two additional five-year terms and expand capacity by another 32 megawatts within the first two years could push the total contract value beyond $3 billion. These figures depend on the client fully utilizing the contracted capacity and extensions.

The company, formerly known as Ault Alliance before rebranding earlier this year, moves aggressively to build AI data infrastructure backed by crypto assets. The flexible financing and ongoing Bitcoin holdings highlight a growing trend of crypto-linked firms leveraging their digital assets to fund capital-intensive tech projects.
