On July 30, 2026, Emirates Airlines launched a new payment feature allowing customers to use Shiba Inu among other cryptocurrencies to book flights.
Available through Crypto.com Pay, this option supports 30 digital assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and Cardano. UAE residents with a Crypto.com account can now select this method when paying in Emirati Dirham.
The integration is a key step following the partnership announced between Emirates and Crypto.com in July 2025, moving from plans into real-world use.
This move also aligns with Dubai’s larger vision to boost digital finance, fitting into its Cashless Strategy under the D33 Economic Agenda, which promotes crypto adoption and blockchain innovation.
For Shiba Inu, this comes just before its sixth anniversary on August 1, 2026, reflecting its growth from a meme token to a recognized payment method in major commercial platforms.
