From July 13 to 17, US crypto spot ETFs saw notable capital shifts, with BlackRock emerging as a dominant force stabilizing the market.
Bitcoin ETFs initially faced a sharp outflow of $425 million on July 13, including a $185.5 million withdrawal from BlackRock's IBIT fund alone.
However, the sector rebounded swiftly, ending the week with a net inflow of $75.67 million as bitcoin prices climbed above $65,000 from a dip near $63,000.
BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) was the primary driver of gains, attracting a total of $204.1 million throughout the week, effectively offsetting heavy withdrawals elsewhere.
Other Bitcoin ETF issuers recorded mixed results: Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust attracted $70 million, Bitwise gained $18.5 million, Morgan Stanley added $7.4 million, VanEck saw $6.1 million inflows, and ARK 21Shares raised $3.6 million.
Meanwhile, Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund experienced significant outflows totaling $181.1 million, including $4.18 million on the final trading day. Grayscale Bitcoin Trust also recorded $53.1 million net withdrawals.
Ether spot ETFs outperformed Bitcoin ETFs with $105.44 million in net inflows, largely driven by the ETHA product, which gained $135.3 million during the week.
Other altcoins showed varied movements: XRP saw a short-lived surge of $6.78 million, Solana maintained stability with $948,000 inflows, and the HYPE token faced $7.26 million in outflows.
The daily flow patterns for Bitcoin ETFs reflect volatility: after Monday’s massive outflow, Tuesday brought a $181 million rebound with $138.9 million to IBIT; Wednesday added $108 million $80.8 million to IBIT; Thursday’s inflows slowed to $79.15 million, with $33.4 million to IBIT; and Friday peaked with $132.3 million, including $136.5 million to IBIT.
These shifts shows BlackRock's expanding influence in directing institutional capital within the crypto ETF landscape.
