Tim Cook will speak for the last time as Apple’s CEO during the Q3 FY2026 earnings call scheduled for July 30 at 2 p.m. PT. After more than a decade of leadership that propelled Apple to the top of the corporate world, Cook will transition to executive chairman, formally handing over the CEO role to John Ternus on September 1.
Apple recently reported a record $111.2 billion revenue for Q2 FY2026, marking its strongest March quarter yet. Cook highlighted "extraordinary" demand for the iPhone 17 line, driving double-digit growth across all major regions. The upcoming call will be Cook’s final opportunity to comment on the company’s financial performance and strategy from the CEO seat.
What this means for crypto markets
Apple’s influence stretches beyond hardware and software. It controls the gateways Apple Pay and the App Store through which millions access financial and crypto-related services. Although Apple does not hold Bitcoin or launch tokens itself, its policies on crypto wallets and NFT platforms have considerable impact on Web3 developers, especially because in-app purchase requirements have imposed hefty fees on digital transactions.
John Ternus, known for overseeing Apple’s hardware innovations, including the Apple Silicon transition and the iPhone supply chain, is now stepping up. While he’s no financial expert, Ternus could push forward Apple’s Secure Enclave technology, which some crypto wallets already use for enhanced security.
Market watchers will focus on any updates regarding Apple’s services growth, App Store policies, and capital allocation strategy in the July 30 call. Should Apple meet or surpass last quarter’s revenue record, it could spark risk-on sentiment, benefiting both traditional equities and the crypto sector.
