August 3, 2026. 1inch rolled out Aqua, a new liquidity tool that flips the usual DeFi bargain on its head. You no longer have to hand over custody to manage positions across multiple chains.

The trade-off has always stung. Better rates and easier management meant trusting someone else with your tokens. 1inch's DEX aggregator built a reputation finding the best swap prices, and now Aqua tackles the other side of the problem: letting you stay in control while the platform handles the complexity.

The feature works on 13 EVM-compatible blockchains, including Ethereum and BNB Chain. You pick a pair, set your fee tier, define the price range, and approve tokens from your own wallet. Everything happens in one flow instead of bouncing between interfaces.

What makes this different is the granularity. Instead of dumping capital into rigid pools, you decide exactly how your liquidity gets deployed. Custom fees and price ranges mean your position works the way you want it to, not the way the protocol defaults it.

The multi-chain support matters more than it sounds. Traders can spread positions across different networks without switching tools or losing track of where their capital sits. No more managing Ethereum liquidity here and Arbitrum liquidity there through separate dashboards.

1inch's own trading volume numbers are still under wraps as the platform transitions into the Aqua rollout. The company appears to be focusing on getting the feature stable across all 13 chains before publishing metrics.

For DeFi users tired of choosing between custody and convenience, Aqua removes that friction entirely. Your tokens stay yours. The platform just makes managing them less of a headache.
