Apple shares dropped nearly 10% in five days following softer earnings, and analysts across Wall Street are now throwing out wildly different forecasts for where the stock heads next. The disagreement is sharp. Evercore ISI's Amit Daryanani keeps a Buy rating with a $365 target, implying 19% upside from current levels. But China Renaissance just downgraded to Hold at $280, and Phillip Securities analyst Helena Wang slapped a Sell rating with a $290 target, suggesting the stock could slide another 5%.
The bull case leans on consumer demand pulling forward purchases ahead of expected price increases, according to Daryanani's team. They also see Apple's pricing power absorbing memory cost inflation, with AI monetization across its installed base acting as a growth driver. That confidence shows in the 19% upside call.
Bears see less runway. Wang's downgrade from Neutral reflects concern the rally has already peaked. DZ Bank's Ingo Wermann, who cut his rating from Buy to Hold, locked in a $310 target. The broader picture, per TipRanks' survey of 31 analysts, lands at $333.18, suggesting 8% upside. Yet Apple just hit an all-time high near $344 before falling back to $306. That peak-and-retreat pattern has some on the Street wondering if the stock has already priced in the good news.
