At the SMX Convention Center in Manila, over 12,000 attendees from across the globe dove into the pulse of emerging technology during Philippine Blockchain Week 2026. This edition wasn’t about explaining what blockchain or AI could do anymore. It was about seeing these tools actively shaping government services, finance, and daily life.
The event ran for three days under the banner "Decoded: Deployed," signaling a shift from theory to practical application. More than 150 speakers, including international experts, shared updates on blockchain, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital governance. It became clear that these technologies are no longer distant concepts but parts of ongoing transformations.
One highlight was the Future of Trust forum. Here, high-level government officials, regulators, business heads, and tech innovators discussed how to use emerging technology to boost transparency and public trust. The discussions emphasized that successful innovation depends on strong institutions and partnerships that ensure responsible tech adoption rather than just the technology itself.
Chezka Gonzales, co-founder of Philippine Blockchain Week, reflected on the journey that began five years ago with a simple mission: to place Filipino talent on the global blockchain map. This event became more than a conference; it turned into a thriving hub where startups connected with investors and industry leaders shaped the future of the digital economy. Scenes ranged from lively workshops like the "Build on Stellar" developer meetups to entertainment moments such as P-pop group KAIA’s live performance and the Smash Pay Fight Night finale.
