The 12th Blockchain Africa Conference (BAC26) is scheduled for October 15, 2026, in Johannesburg, marking 100 days before the event. Since its inception, BAC has attracted more than 11,270 participants, over 410 speakers, and delegates from 165 countries, making it a cornerstone event for blockchain and digital asset discussions in Africa.
Event Focus and Program Highlights
BAC26 will feature a full day of panels, workshops, and networking opportunities aimed at advancing blockchain integration throughout the continent. Topics to be covered include blockchain's role in Africa's development, AI and blockchain convergence, and the institutional adoption of digital assets. The agenda also addresses stablecoins, CBDCs, regulatory frameworks, digital market infrastructure, tokenization of real-world assets, payments, inclusion, and security in digital asset management.
Growth of Africa’s Blockchain Ecosystem
African blockchain startups raised $90.1 million across 28 deals in 2025, according to the latest African Blockchain Report by ABSA and CV VC. This funding represents 5.3% of all African venture capital, nearly twice the global blockchain startup funding rate. The conference arrives amid this rapid sector growth, highlighting Africa’s expanding influence in the digital assets space.
