Bitcoin climbed to approximately $64,411 on July 19, pushing toward the $65,000 level but encountering resistance near $70,000, which prevented a broader upward reversal. The cryptocurrency showed a 1% gain over 24 hours on Coinbase and a 1.36% increase according to YCharts, yet it still traded below a critical technical barrier.

After falling to June lows, Bitcoin's rebound tested key price points that separate a short-term bounce from a larger market turnaround. The $65,000 threshold, last briefly crossed on July 15, remains a pivot for the current recovery momentum.

Market Flows and Technical Indicators

Institutional activity offered mixed signals. Farside Investors recorded $181 million of inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs during this advance, following periods of weaker institutional participation. However, one positive session is insufficient to confirm sustained accumulation, and multiple inflow occurrences would better support the notion of institutional backing.

Market analyst Ted Pillows noted that reclaiming $65,000 could open the path to $68,000, but a failure around this level might push the price back toward support near $62,500. Weekly chart analysis from Kong Trading highlighted an approaching 50-week moving average crossing below the 100-week average, a pattern seen before previous Bitcoin bear market lows. Nonetheless, these moving average crosses are lagging indicators and cannot forecast exact market bottoms independently.

Investor Crypto Patel provided a longer-term perspective, warning that Bitcoin might still undergo a correction between 15% and 25%. Patel suggested that waiting for prices near $30,000 could offer a strategic entry point.
