The XRP Ledger is set for a significant upgrade during the week of August 3-9 with the rollout of the 3.3.0 core server update. This release introduces five key amendments that enhance transaction privacy, institutional usability, and token flexibility.

Jazzi Cooper, Head of Product at RippleX, highlighted the update as a major step forward for tokenized assets, supporting use cases like global transfers, trading, collateralization, and settlement. One standout feature is Confidential MPT, which integrates zero-knowledge proofs to allow token transfers to be verified without exposing sensitive details to the entire network.

Revived Batch Feature and Other Improvements

The Batch amendment, known as BatchV1_1, makes a return after a delay caused by a critical security bug discovered earlier this year. It enables atomic execution of up to eight cross-account transactions, ensuring that either all transactions in a batch succeed or none do. The vulnerability that threatened unauthorized transaction execution was fixed before the feature’s initial activation, pushing back its launch by about five months.

Other additions include Permission Delegation, which lets users grant limited signing rights instead of full account control, and Sponsored Fees and Reserves, allowing institutions to cover transaction fees and reserve requirements for their users. Dynamic MPT gives token issuers the ability to adjust token properties after launch, offering flexibility for compliance or corrections.

This update arrives amid broader discussions on crypto regulation and adoption. For instance, XRP and Bitcoin face regulatory scrutiny as lawmakers consider new legislation affecting the sector.
