CAP token jumped 15.3% in 24 hours after Upbit launched three trading pairs on August 6. The exchange went live with Korean won, Bitcoin and Tether markets at 14:00 KST, giving the token direct access to one of Asia's largest crypto hubs roughly five weeks after Bithumb first listed it locally.

The move matters because it doubles CAP's exposure to South Korea's retail market. Upbit is Korea's second-largest exchange by volume, and won-denominated pairs pull local money without conversion friction. At listing time, CAP sat near $0.02735, with a market cap around $42.5 million.

Deposits start through Ethereum only

Upbit locked deposits and withdrawals to the Ethereum network exclusively, flagging the contract address 0x99991c6aabba5a096f24f250b73580f5179b9999 and warning users that transfers through other chains would fail. The restriction is standard for new listings but forces a specific on-ramp, which can bottleneck early volume if liquidity on Ethereum's side runs thin.

The exchange applied familiar opening guardrails. Buy orders were blocked for five minutes after trading opened. Sell orders priced more than 10% below the prior day's close faced the same cooldown. For two hours straight, traders could only place limit orders, not market orders, a playbook Upbit repeated when listing Derive in July across the same three markets.

Five-minute blip or real momentum

The 15.3% daily gain came amid stronger trading activity around the announcement, but CoinGecko's data couldn't isolate how much came from Upbit itself versus broader market moves. That's the perpetual listing problem: you see the bump but can't cleanly attribute it.

Bithumb landed CAP first in June. Upbit's entry five weeks later suggests the token cleared whatever vetting each exchange requires, though neither exchange disclosed specific listing criteria or any exclusivity period. The token now has two major won gateways in a market where local demand often drives short-term price action.
