TRON Sets Monthly Network Records and Launches Post-Quantum Testnet Upgrade
TRON posted record monthly transactions of 385.77 million and 26.97 million active accounts in June, while its Nile Testnet activated a post-quantum cryptography upgrade featuring Falcon-512 and ML-DSA-44 algorithms.

TRON recorded 385.77 million transactions and 26.97 million active accounts in June, both new monthly highs, while simultaneously deploying a post-quantum cryptography upgrade on its Nile Testnet, according to data from Lookonchain and Tronscan.
The network's native token TRX ended June down 10.35%, broadly in line with a wider crypto market selloff that wiped approximately $500 billion from total market capitalization. Despite that decline, TRX outperformed Solana (SOL) over the same period, even as SOL attracted renewed attention following the launch of SPCX and fresh interest in tokenized assets.
On-chain activity peaked on June 10, when TRON processed 14.55 million transactions in a single day and logged 5.8 million active accounts — both all-time daily records, per Tronscan data. Market participants and analysts have widely referred to June as TRON's strongest month on record across network metrics.
In stablecoin settlement, TRON has again moved ahead of Ethereum in USDT transfer volume, according to DeFiLlama. The network currently holds over $86 billion in USDT, more than any other blockchain, reinforcing its position as one of the largest settlement layers in the crypto ecosystem.
On the infrastructure side, the TRON Nile Testnet has activated build GreatVoyage-v4.8.2-PQ1-build1, adding support for post-quantum digital signatures. The upgrade implements two post-quantum algorithms: Falcon-512 and ML-DSA-44. Coverage extends across transaction signing, block production, node-to-node communication, and smart contract verification. The upgrade is currently confined to the Nile Testnet and requires governance approval before any mainnet deployment can proceed.
The post-quantum push places TRON alongside other major Layer 1 networks moving toward quantum-resistant infrastructure in 2026. Solana has previously outlined a post-quantum roadmap, and TRON's testnet activation signals a comparable strategic direction.
From a fundamental standpoint, TRON's dual narrative — record on-chain usage combined with a forward-looking security upgrade — positions the network as one of the more closely watched Layer 1 protocols heading into the second half of 2025. The mainnet rollout of post-quantum features, however, remains contingent on a formal governance vote, the timeline for which has not yet been announced.
USDT flows and daily active account growth will be key metrics to monitor in Q3, as analysts assess whether June's record activity represents a sustained trend or a temporary peak.
