Solana Prediction Market World Goes Live Inside Phantom Wallet

A previously anonymous Solana project known only for a glowing globe logo and the tagline 'Trade Everything' has launched as a fully onchain prediction market called World. The platform is accessible at world.xyz and within the Phantom wallet on iOS, Android, and desktop as of July 1, 2026.

World allows users to trade event contracts directly from their Solana wallets without transferring custody of funds to a third party. Positions, settlement, and redemptions are executed entirely onchain, with Phantom's CASH stablecoin serving as the settlement asset. Winning positions are redeemed automatically inside the Phantom wallet.

At launch, available markets include crypto price contracts and events tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The team has indicated that markets covering sports, geopolitics, and macroeconomics are planned for the near future, according to an announcement shared with CoinDesk.

Chainlink serves as World's primary oracle infrastructure, providing market data and resolution services through Chainlink Data Streams and the Chainlink Runtime Environment. The architecture is intended to reduce dependence on human-led market resolution, a recurring criticism of prediction market platforms. Polymarket has similarly moved toward oracle-based settlement for certain price-driven markets.

Pedro Miranda, head of consumer at the Solana Foundation, commented in Wednesday's announcement: 'Prediction markets are one of the most powerful applications you can build on a high-performance blockchain. World is designed to show what Solana makes possible: real-time markets, onchain settlement, and a user experience that meets people where they are.'

Prior to the launch, World's social media account generated millions of views on X through cryptic posts that revealed almost no product details. Speculation among users ranged from a meme coin to a broader Solana infrastructure project. Unofficial WORLD-themed copycat tokens appeared on token launchpads, though none carry any affiliation with the official platform. The project's identity remained undisclosed until late June, when a legal disclosure on Phantom's website surfaced publicly on X.

World's integration into Phantom provides immediate distribution through one of Solana's largest consumer-facing applications. Phantom has been expanding its in-app markets offering, which already includes Kalshi prediction markets and regulated derivatives. World's debut within Phantom marks the first of several planned frontend distribution partnerships with traditional fintech and crypto platforms, with additional launches scheduled for July.

World is not the only Solana-native prediction market currently active. Jupiter unveiled its Forecast beta on June 29, offering 15-minute bitcoin price markets, signaling broader ecosystem interest in onchain event-contract trading on Solana.
