Robert Kiyosaki, author of the bestselling personal finance book 'Rich Dad Poor Dad,' claimed on July 22, 2026, that the global economy is currently collapsing, a scenario he predicted in his earlier work 'Rich Dad's Prophecy.' He emphasized that those who adopted the strategies described in his book have managed to maintain financial stability amid ongoing turmoil.
Kiyosaki’s Warning on Baby Boomer Impact
Kiyosaki has continuously warned that pension funds are fundamentally unsustainable. He linked the beginning of the economic downturn to the aging of the Baby Boomer generation, noting that the first members turned 70 in 2016. According to him, this demographic shift marks the start of a broader financial unraveling. The author reiterated this point by stating, "Global economy is crashing," reminding followers that many people will suffer losses in this crash while a minority will prosper.
Despite this bleak outlook, major U.S. stock indices like the S&P 500 have surged by 246.67% since 2016, highlighting a disconnect between the broader market performance and Kiyosaki’s economic concerns. Other finance experts also foresee challenges related to aging Boomers liquidating assets, with famed investor Michael Burry projecting 2028 as a critical year for this crisis.
Investment Strategies and Asset Performance
Kiyosaki advises creating an "ark," a protective investment portfolio, to weather the ongoing economic storm. His approach includes investing in cash-generating businesses and a diversified portfolio featuring Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), gold, and silver. Over the past five years, gold has notably doubled in value, with a $1,000 investment growing to approximately $2,282.50. Bitcoin and Ethereum have shown more volatility, offering significant returns primarily to early adopters before the 2020 bull market and subsequent crypto downturn.
By promoting these assets, Kiyosaki shows a shift from traditional market reliance toward alternative stores of value amid systemic financial risks. He continues to encourage timely action, stating it is "not too late to make changes now" to avoid being wiped out.
