Ondo Finance Brings IVV ETF and Micron Shares On-Chain via Ethereum

Ondo Finance has launched tokenized versions of BlackRock's iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) and Micron Technology stock, settling transactions on the Ethereum blockchain under a custodial framework aligned with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission guidelines.

The move marks a significant expansion of Ondo Finance's real-world asset tokenization platform, which now covers both an equity index fund and an individual technology company share. Both instruments are brought on-chain through a custodial model that adheres to SEC-defined standards, providing a regulated structure for institutional and eligible investors seeking blockchain-based exposure to traditional securities.

Settlement for both tokenized assets is handled on Ethereum, making the network the underlying infrastructure for the transaction layer. The custodial approach ensures that the underlying physical securities are held by a qualified custodian, mirroring ownership rights for token holders in compliance with existing U.S. financial regulations.

BlackRock's IVV is one of the largest and most liquid ETFs in the world, tracking the S&P 500 index. Its tokenization through Ondo Finance gives on-chain market participants access to broad U.S. equity market exposure without exiting the blockchain ecosystem. Micron Technology, a major U.S. semiconductor manufacturer, represents a single-stock tokenization use case, broadening the scope of assets available in tokenized form beyond index products.

Ondo Finance has been steadily building out its suite of tokenized real-world assets, which previously included U.S. Treasury-backed products. The addition of an equity ETF and a technology stock signals a deliberate push into a wider range of traditional financial instruments.

The custodial model adopted by Ondo is designed to satisfy regulatory requirements while enabling programmable, blockchain-native ownership and transfer of securities. By anchoring the structure to SEC-recognized custodial standards, the platform aims to bridge compliance requirements with the operational benefits of decentralized settlement infrastructure.

No specific launch date for secondary market trading or further eligible investor details were disclosed in the initial announcement. The development is part of a broader industry trend of tokenizing traditional financial assets on public blockchains, with Ethereum remaining the dominant settlement layer for such products.
