Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is set to launch PMX AI, an AI avatar designed to assist citizens with government services, crafted by Zetrix AI Bhd. This groundbreaking initiative positions Malaysia as a regional leader in artificial intelligence.
PMX AI will allow users to renew licenses, process payments, and receive detailed answers to inquiries all in a single interaction, eliminating the need for multiple visits to government offices. This innovation represents a shift in how governmental services are delivered, utilizing advanced technology to enhance public engagement.
The AI model employs a continuous update system that incorporates Anwar's speeches and policy statements, ensuring its responses remain relevant and aligned with the current administration's objectives. It is capable of engaging in conversations in both English and Malay, while also understanding local dialects and slang, enhancing its accessibility for the general population.
As Anwar prepares for the official launch expected soon, the Prime Minister's Office emphasized that PMX AI reflects his commitment to modernizing Malaysia's services. This initiative is part of Malaysia's broader ambition to establish itself as a leading AI hub in Southeast Asia before the forthcoming elections, scheduled for early 2028.
Additionally, this marks a significant development as Anwar becomes one of the first national leaders to implement an AI avatar for routine public services, thereby setting a precedent for the intersection of governance and technology.
In a promotional video, Anwar is depicted as an astronaut, underlining the innovative nature of this project and its aim to explore new dimensions of public service. As PMX AI prepares for its debut, the Malaysian government is also drafting an AI Governance Bill to regulate this rapidly evolving technology.
