Lighter surpassed $10.4 million in total value locked (TVL) on the newly launched Robinhood Crypto Chain within its first week of operation.

The broader Robinhood Chain ecosystem has exceeded $100 million in TVL since its mainnet debut on July 1-2, 2026. Lighter operates as the primary perpetual futures decentralized exchange (DEX) on this Ethereum Layer-2 built atop Arbitrum.

Robinhood was a key investor in Lighter’s $68 million funding round completed in November 2025. also it pledged around $11 million in LIT token rewards to users interacting with Lighter via Robinhood Wallet, supporting user growth and liquidity.

Following these developments, the LIT token's price surged between 15% and 80%, depending on the time frame observed after integration and tokenomics updates.

Expanding beyond stablecoin collateral, Lighter now accepts tokenized stocks such as NVDA, GOOG, and AAPL for perpetual futures positions, providing a bridge between traditional finance and DeFi markets.

The $100 million TVL milestone is significant primarily due to the source of funds: Robinhood’s predominantly retail investor base, many of whom are new to decentralized finance platforms and wallets like MetaMask.

While established perpetual futures DEXs usually hold hundreds of millions in TVL, Lighter’s rapid growth from launch to eight figures demonstrates strong initial traction, enabled by close integration with a major brokerage platform.

However, Lighter's heavy financial reliance on Robinhood introduces concentration risk. If the chain's activity declines after promotional incentives end, the TVL may decrease sharply, mirroring the initial quick growth.
