The FBI arrested Zyaire Wilkins, 21, from North Lauderdale, Florida, for allegedly funding malware embedded in eight Steam games that stole cryptocurrency from approximately 8,000 computers between May 2024 and February 2026.
The malware was an infostealer that collected passwords, session tokens, and crypto wallet data during gameplay without users noticing. The affected games, including BlockBlasters, Dashverse, Lunara, PirateFi, Chemia, Lampy, DashFPS, and Tokenova, initially passed Steam's security checks before malicious updates were pushed.
Investigators uncovered that bots targeted wallets with significant balances and then sent infected game download links via Discord, Telegram, X, and LinkedIn. BlockBlasters alone reportedly stole over $150,000 from between 261 and 478 victims. Twitch streamer RastalandTV lost around $32,000 to the malware in September 2025.
Wilkins did not develop the malware alone. Prosecutors stated he purchased a remote access Trojan for $10,000 under the alias “Sibel.eth” on the dark web and collaborated with an unnamed lead developer who has yet to face charges.
The FBI traced Wilkins through unusual spending patterns, including Uber Eats orders, which helped lead to his capture.
