On July 14, 2026, EthSystems made its public debut, aiming to address significant privacy challenges in institutional finance on Ethereum. The company, formed by the team behind the Ethereum Foundation’s Institutional Privacy Task Force, secured initial funding from notable backers including Bitmine Immersion Technologies, Sharplink, and Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin.
Strategic Focus on Institutional Privacy
EthSystems has a clear mission: to enable banks, asset managers, and regulated institutions to conduct transactions on Ethereum without revealing sensitive information such as trade details or client identities. This initiative is particularly timely as the institutional finance sector grapples with privacy concerns that could hinder the adoption of blockchain technology.
The founding team consists of Mo Jalil, Oskar Thorén, and Aaryamann Challani, who bring extensive experience from their previous work in the Institutional Privacy Task Force. EthSystems offers a range of open-source privacy solutions, including confidential settlements, private transfers, and privacy-preserving identity mechanisms. The firm collaborates with central banks, regulators, and leading financial institutions globally, with a strong focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
Support from Industry Leaders
The backing from prominent investors like Bitmine and Sharplink shows the strategic importance of EthSystems' mission. Both companies, known for their significant Ethereum treasury strategies, are not just providing financial support but also signaling their commitment to building the necessary infrastructure for institutional privacy.
Tom Lee, Chairman of Bitmine, emphasized that the next $100 trillion in assets will not transition to on-chain solutions without adequate privacy and security infrastructure. He described EthSystems as a foundational component for Ethereum’s development as a viable platform for institutional finance.
Similarly, Sharplink's CEO, Joseph Chalom, highlighted that Ethereum's value can only be fully realized if institutions can operate on the network while maintaining confidentiality. Chalom views EthSystems as a catalyst for enabling major financial players to use Ethereum effectively.
Joe Lubin's endorsement is particularly significant in the blockchain community. As a co-founder of Ethereum and CEO of Consensys, Lubin has observed the evolution of privacy technologies and recognizes the critical role EthSystems plays in shaping future institutional use cases.
