Large Ethereum holders have accumulated 5.6 million ETH since mid-2025, marking a decisive shift toward accumulation among whales controlling between 10,000 and 100,000 coins each. The buying spree kicked off what analysts now describe as a sustained accumulation phase that stretched through 2025 and into early 2026.

Daily inflows into ETH accumulation addresses climbed steadily through the second half of 2025. November alone saw a peak of 1.14 million ETH flooding into these wallets, the highest single month on record. The trend has only accelerated this year, with accumulation addresses pulling in an average of 200,000 ETH per day throughout 2026.

The total balance held by accumulation wallets swelled to 26.55 million ETH by March 2026, up 6.5 million from 20.1 million at the start of the year. Separately, staked ETH reached a fresh record of 37.85 million coins, suggesting that large players aren't just buying but also locking funds into protocol operations.

What drives the pattern remains open to debate. Some analysts point to institutional confidence returning after mid-2025 volatility. Others see long-term believers gradually reconcentrating holdings ahead of potential regulatory clarity or network upgrades. The data doesn't reveal intent, only direction, and the direction has been relentlessly upward.
