Six key U.S. government economic data feeds are now live on Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network, opening new doors for blockchain apps to tap into official macroeconomic stats.

Chainlink partnered with the U.S. Department of Commerce to bring data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis directly onchain. This includes Real GDP, the PCE Price Index, and Real Final Sales to Private Domestic Purchasers all key for tracking economic growth and inflation. Each indicator is available in both level and annualized percentage change formats.

Previously, blockchain projects mainly relied on crypto price feeds. Now developers can design financial products that automatically respond to shifts in inflation or consumer spending without manual inputs. Potential use cases stretch across inflation-linked tokens, automated trading, prediction markets, and transparent DeFi risk monitoring.

This move reflects the growing trend of tokenizing real-world assets and integrating traditional financial data with decentralized platforms. Standardized, government-verified economic data could enhance interoperability between DeFi and conventional finance.
