On August 5, FACEIT will launch a new anti-cheat feature called "Human Input Detection" that uses machine learning to spot whether mouse movements come from a real player or an AI cheat. This marks a shift from traditional software scans to behavioral analysis.
Most anti-cheat tools scan for known cheat signatures, but AI-enabled cheats bypass these by reading game data externally and mimicking human input almost flawlessly. By May 2026, 40% of all FACEIT bans involved AI or DMA cheats, with AI-related detections soaring 272% during Season 7 alone.
How Human Input Detection Works
The system learns from millions of real gameplay inputs, recognizing typical patterns of mouse movement, clicking, and aiming adjustments. If a player's inputs deviate from these patterns in artificial ways, the system flags them for further review. FACEIT partnered with Google engineers to develop this behavioral model, emphasizing multiple confirmations before issuing any bans to avoid false positives.
This layered approach complements FACEIT's existing kernel-level anti-cheat technology but targets the subtle ways AI cheats mask themselves. As cheating evolves, so do detection methods, aiming to keep competitive gaming fair and skill-based.
