Binance kicked off its August Monthly Leaderboard on August 3, targeting users of its Dual Investment product with a substantial top prize of 5,888 USDC. The competition ranks participants by the average amount they commit to Dual Investment subscriptions throughout the month.
To qualify, users must have verified accounts and enroll in the promotion through Binance’s activity page. Only subscriptions lasting longer than three days count toward the leaderboard. The ranking system factors in both the size and duration of each investment by multiplying the amount by the number of days held, then dividing by 30, which means that holding a smaller amount for longer can outrank a large, short-term subscription.
The leaderboard rewards the top 100 users, with second and third places receiving 2,188 USDC each. Rewards decrease gradually down to 68 USDC for users ranked between 71 and 100. Binance has indicated that if all rewards are distributed, the total prize pool would be around 25,500 USDC. However, these prizes won't be paid out as immediately withdrawable funds. Instead, winners will receive Dual Investment subscriptions lasting 14 days, which cannot be canceled or redeemed early, with all rewards expected to be delivered by September 14.
Binance reserves the right to disqualify participants suspected of fraud or rule violations and may modify or cancel the campaign at its discretion. Dual Investment itself allows users to select a deposit asset, target price, and settlement date, with different outcomes depending on market movements at settlement.
The leaderboard’s design encourages larger and longer commitments, reflecting an incentive strategy that favors patient investors over last-minute entrants. Market reaction to these incentives remains to be seen.
