Anton Bukov has officially exited the 1inch project after six years, stating he was fired in late November 2025. Despite this, he retains his co-founder title and holds a 50% ownership stake in the company.

In a recent announcement, Bukov confirmed that he is now launching a new DeFi venture called Second Tier. He emphasized his commitment to creating an open financial system, free of intermediaries. "I’d rather build that than wait around for it," he mentioned in his post.

The 1inch team acknowledged Bukov's departure via a post on X, asserting that his exit will not disrupt the project's infrastructure or strategic direction. Co-founder Sergej Kunz reassured that the existing leadership team will continue to steer the organization without major changes.

Having co-founded 1inch in May 2019, Bukov played a key role in shaping its architecture and economic design. He had been advocating for leadership reform, driven by feedback from teammates and users. However, details surrounding the reasons for his departure remain minimal.
