XRP is holding steady near $1.06 as August kicks off, far from its July 2025 peak of $3.65 but quietly gaining momentum. Despite a flat price pattern, the cryptocurrency’s ecosystem shows signs of strengthening, with over $1.5 billion flowing into XRP-backed ETFs and nearly half a million new accounts created on the XRP Ledger in 2026 alone.
Regulatory Wins Fuel Optimism
The most significant shift came in August 2025 when a court ruled XRP as a non-security in public transactions, lifting a heavy legal cloud that had weighed on its growth. This ruling reignited US institutional interest, spurring a surge in XRP spot ETFs that pulled in more than $1 billion within a month of their launch.
Now, the spotlight is on the CLARITY Act, which recently cleared the Senate Banking Committee with a 15-9 vote. This legislation promises to cement XRP’s status, potentially unlocking vast new streams of institutional capital. Analysts see this as a key trigger for the next price rally.
Market watchers are divided on the scale but united in bullish sentiment. Ali Martinez points to $1.13 as a critical breakout level that could unleash further gains. More aggressive forecasts include Celal Kucuker’s projection of a $6 peak by year-end, hinging on the CLARITY Act’s passage. Javon Marks has gone further, comparing XRP’s current chart to its explosive 2017 run that saw a nearly 30-fold jump, targeting $15.
Meanwhile, major institutions take a more cautious stance. Standard Chartered’s Geoff Kendrick lowered his 2026 price forecast from $8 to $2.80 but remains bullish over the long term, projecting $7 in 2027 and $12.60 in 2028. This tempered optimism reflects a belief in XRP’s fundamentals and regulatory clarity driving sustained growth.
