Twelve major institutions will run Arc as founding validators when Circle's blockchain goes live on September 16. BlackRock, SBI Group, Visa, Mastercard, Standard Chartered, MoneyGram, Intercontinental Exchange, Galaxy, Global Payments, Sumitomo Corporation, and the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation have all committed to support the network from day one.
Circle, the company behind USDC stablecoin, has been testing Arc on a private mainnet with over 100 partners for months. The validator lineup signals serious institutional interest in moving everything from asset settlement to custody and payments onto a blockchain built by a stablecoin issuer rather than a crypto native protocol. That's a deliberate bet on legitimacy.
BlackRock is already planning to deploy its USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund, known as BUIDL, directly onto Arc. The move means one of the world's largest asset managers will essentially anchor dollar-denominated crypto liquidity on Circle's infrastructure. Other firms are testing payment use cases, tokenized settlement flows, and custody models ahead of launch.
Arc's September date comes after months of industry noise around stablecoin infrastructure and institutional onramps. Cross-chain connectivity has become table stakes for any serious blockchain play, and Arc is positioning itself as the settlement layer for institutions that want to move value without leaving the traditional finance world.
