Senator Elizabeth Warren has called on former President Donald Trump to provide an updated and detailed report of his cryptocurrency earnings, highlighting a spike to approximately $1.4 billion in 2025, more than double the previous year's amount. This request comes as the Senate debates the Clarity Act, a bill aimed at defining regulatory authority over digital asset markets.

Trump's Crypto Earnings and Family Involvement

The financial disclosure reveals that Trump's crypto income now constitutes the majority of his earnings. A notable portion stems from DT Marks Defi LLC, which generated over $590 million in 2025. This entity is partially owned by Trump family members, holding a 30% stake, and has significant interests in World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency firm founded by Trump and his sons.

Warren's Call for Transparency Ahead of Crypto Legislation

Warren's letter stresses the need for transparency due to the potential conflict of interest as federal officials profit from the industry they may regulate. She urges Trump to voluntarily submit updated financial disclosures covering activities up to mid-July 2026 by the 23rd of that month. The timing aligns with the ongoing Senate discussions regarding the Clarity Act, which seeks to clarify roles between the SEC and CFTC in crypto oversight.

Warren warns that without current information, Congressional debate on market structure legislation and ethics safeguards could be compromised. Her request shows concerns over federal officials benefiting financially from crypto while regulating it.
