On July 14, Pump.fun, the Solana-based memecoin launchpad, initiated the distribution of over $19 million worth of $PUMP tokens. This marks a significant moment, following a major token unlock event that occurred on July 12.

Details of the Token Distribution

The recent unlock involved approximately 82.5 billion $PUMP tokens from the vesting schedule, representing around 29% of the token's circulating supply at that time. In the first hour alone, the platform's team wallet distributed more than $6 million in tokens, with total distributions surpassing $19 million by the conclusion of the event.

Of the total unlocked tokens, about 50 billion were allocated for the team, while 32.5 billion were set aside for early investors. In total, around 52 billion $PUMP tokens, valued at approximately $76 million, left the team wallet. Additionally, approximately $60 million worth of tokens remains within the team's treasury.

Tokenomics and Market Insights

The $PUMP token has a total supply of 1 trillion tokens, with its allocation distributed as follows: 20% for the team, 13% for existing investors, and 24% for the community and ecosystem. Smaller portions are designated for the foundation, liquidity provisions, and an ecosystem fund. The remaining 33% was sold during the 2025 ICO, which raised roughly $1.32 billion.

Pump.fun has generated substantial revenue since its launch, with daily fees peaking above $7 million during the memecoin frenzy. The $PUMP token was introduced via ICO in mid-2025, featuring a vesting schedule that included a one-year cliff followed by linear unlocks, with the July 12 event marking the first major cliff unlock since the ICO.
