Cardano's mainnet saw the launch of its V11 van Rossem hard fork on July 18, marking the first upgrade approved entirely through onchain governance involving DReps, SPOs, and the Cardano community council.
The hard fork, which updates Protocol Version 11, includes improvements to Plutus and its Cost Model while preparing the network for the upcoming Dijkstra era hard fork that will bring Ouroboros Leios. Additional changes encompass enhanced primitives, VRF key uniqueness, and updated reference input rules.
Price Movements and Technical Signal
The activation coincided with a golden cross on Cardano’s hourly chart, where the 50-period moving average crossed above the 200-period moving average. Despite this bullish technical sign, ADA’s price remained nearly unchanged, trading around $0.165 and slightly up 0.55% in the last 24 hours.
ADA continues to trade below its daily 50-period moving average, indicating mixed momentum in the short term. The successful hard fork deployment, confirmed by Cardano explorer 'cexplorer,' signals smooth network advancement as the ecosystem coordinates further upgrades.
